I've never done anything like this before and I'm nervous.
What can I expect?

First of all, you can expect us to understand that you might be nervous. You can expect us to act professionally at all times. You can expect that once you're here, you will relax, the nervousness will pass and that you'll feel good about yourself. Last, and most important, you can expect to have photographs that are tasteful, and memories that you will be proud of for the rest of your life.

To help put you at ease, you might want to take a moment and read sometestimonials from Tim's clients. They are women, just like yourself, a bit nervous, who have come to his studio for the first time.

I'm getting married and want to do photographs as a wedding present from ‘bride to be' to groom. What do you suggest?

This is quite the trend today. Some women prefer a semi-nude or nude fine art photograph that they can hang in their bedroom in which they may or may not be recognized; others prefer to do a series of photographs and put them in an album for their private viewing; many do a combination of both.

Although I'm in relatively good shape, my body is not as toned as I'd like it to be. I'm doing this as a birthday gift for my husband, but I am a little self-conscious.

Our photography is very specialized. It's for women and about women who want to share their bodies with their significant other. You know what he likes about you, so focus on that. Sometimes a piece of your lingerie or black lace can be strategically placed over what you would want to cover up. In most cases, he loves you and that includes all of you! For an additional charge, we offer a computer retouching service on digital photographs. You might want to take a minute and read some testimonials from Tim's clients to see just how much they love their photographs.

I'm single and not in a relationship with anyone right now. I've always fantasized about having some boudoir photos of myself, but I'm not quite sure why.

It's rather common for a woman to want this as a testimonial to herself … a sensual, artistic and graceful photograph for her own self-esteem. Many women feel this need, not all respond, because we tend to put everybody else first. You're hearing what's important to you and acting on it. Congratulations.

Is it possible to do an artistic photograph that is provocative…but tasteful?

Absolutely. In fact that may be the most popular of all our photo shoots. Consider the woman who wore her full length fur coat with nothing else on but a pair of high heels and black stockings…all you see is her face, her legs, and part of her breast…She has a very sensual, mysterious, elegant, and a very artistic photograph. She also has a timeless and tasteful work of art.

How long will the photo shoot last?

On average one and a half to two hours. If you're having your make-up done, add an extra hour.

top of page

Do you provide a make-up artist?

We can make arrangements for a make-up artist to be here. If you're doing headshots we recommend that you consider her services. She specializes in make-up for black and white photography as well as color. She will enhance your best features and give you the exact look you want, whether natural, evening, sultry, classic, dramatic or glamorous. Her fee is $125. If you feel confident enough to do your own make-up, we'll be happy to give you some tips.

Who will take my photographs?

All the photographs are taken by Tim Carron ( About Us ). Tim is absolutely wonderful to work with. Tim has a nice way about him…he's laid back, yet professional. You will feel comfortable and be treated with respect. His job is to create a photograph for you that is tasteful and will be considered a “work of art.” Tim has photographed thousands of women in the nude in his 15 plus years in business. The trust factor around here is pretty high. In fact, Tim is what is considered a “Master” in the martial arts and teaches the Yonkers police department. He is held in high regard by the community and anyone who knows him. Take a minute and see what other women have to say about how respected and dignified they felt in their photo shoot with Tim ( Testimonials ).

What is your privacy policy?

If we want to use any photograph that we take for any purpose, we must have the person we are photographing sign what is called a “Model Release.” Your photographs are for your use, not for our use. Should a photographer use a photograph without the legal documents being signed, he/she opens himself up to a law suit. We operate on a totally professional basis and have a signed model release for every photograph which appears on our website, portfolio, or in our studio.

Who will see my pictures?

We are professional and confidential. All the photographs are taken, processed and printed by Tim with the exception of color processing which is done through a professional lab. Other than that, absolutely no one sees anything. Tim has been in business for over 15 years, has an excellent and trusted reputation. He would not do anything to tarnish it.

How many poses can I do?

What's drawing you to have Tim take your photograph is his creativity, artistic abilities and skill in lighting. If you're doing an artistic large format photo shoot with Tim, when you change a pose, he has to change his lighting. Each set or lighting change can take up to an hour ( Behind the Scene ). So ask yourself, do you want to spend your time having photographs taken or waiting for lighting or set changes. The secret here is to plan what's important to you. Pick that pose and work within variations of it, rather than being all over the place. Since additional poses take more studio time, there is an extra charge. So good planning is important for everyone.

For example, one customer wanted an artistic nude of her back while she was lying on her side. That's one pose. Now if she wants to do another back shot, sitting up, that's an additional pose because we're going from a horizontal pose to a vertical pose.

Another client who wanted to put together an album of photographs decided that she wanted to dance. Tim was able to light an area that she could stand and move around in. he had enough variations of that pose for her album.

Photography is definitely one case where “more” is not necessarily “better”. The best advice that we can give you is to “focus”. What we suggest is for you to come as close to deciding what you want to do and then we can talk about what will work from a technical point of view, as well as realistically.

You might start with these options.

Option “A”: Pick one pose that you'd like to do. Have one large photograph, maybe a 16x20 for your bedroom.

Option “B”: Many women do a series of photographs for their boyfriend, fiancé, or husband for private viewing. They will select anywhere from eight to twelve proofs and have 8x10 photographs made and put them into an album. We can recommend a few places either on-line or in New York City where you can get a quality album with paper in between the pages for an elegant look.

Option “C”: A combination of A and B. Something to frame and hang on your wall as well as an album.

How many outfits can I change into?

Bring as many outfits as you'd like. You can make your final selection as to what you'll wear once you are here. It's always better to have more to choose from, rather than not enough. Although we don't have a problem with your changing outfits, sometimes when you stop to change, you'll lose your momentum. So try to stay focused on what you want. The momentum will give you your great shot, not the outfit.

How much time do I need to allow from the time of the photo shoot to when I can pick up my photographs?

Although it can be sooner, to be on the safe side, figure on two to three weeks. To attain the best quality, we shoot on film. You can figure on a week for your proofs. Once you select the photographs you want, figure on another week. And, although it's probably not necessary, but to be on the safe side, add another week. Keep in mind there are variables beyond our control, like holidays and vacations to name a few.

How far in advance should I schedule my photo shoot?

It can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to get an appointment with Tim. He represents a rare breed, very specialized and artistic in his work and he provides a safe environment for you to be in ( Testimonials ). For this reason he is in demand. It's not uncommon for women to come in to pick up their photographs and make an appointment for their next shoot. He's just that great to work with. So it's always best to give us a heads up as to when you want to come in. Once you're in his calendar, you'll have preferential treatment if you need to reschedule.

A 50% deposit is required on all custom work when you place your order. We accept cash, checks, Visa, MC or Discover.

For those of you who understand and appreciate that your photograph is an investment in art, you can upgrade to Tim's speciality which is a Handmade Custom Archival B&W Photograph on Museum Quality 100% Cotton Fiber Paper starting at $225 for an 8x10 and $300 for an 11x14. You can have your photograph Sepia Toned or Gold Toned for an additional fee of 50%.
